The statement “you become what you think about most of the time” reflects the idea that our thoughts and persistent focus on a particular thing or idea shape our actions and ultimately our reality. It suggests that focusing on positive or negative thoughts can lead to positive or negative outcomes in our lives.
As we move into our ’60’s and beyond, we all have a choice to make. Many of us have seen people close to us lose their vitality, their ‘joie de vivre’ as they get older and especially as they retire and lose their sense of purpose. But it doesn’t have to be this way! Life is what you make it as they say. And, really, there are only two choices. You can see aging as a period of decline or, alternatively, you can choose life, involvement, health, joy, peace, love, fulfillment and contentment.
At the age of 72, I have had to make this choice too. I have been blessed with great health but, even if you’re wrestling with health issues, your attitude can make all the difference! This is the philosophy I have embraced and it is my hope that most, if not all, of you who read these pages will adopt the same philosophy in your own lives.
